I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Hebrew Language. The purpose of my ongoing research is to describe the productive mechanisms of derivation in the Modern Hebrew verbal system. This description will include identifying the productive morphological patterns, their semantic characteristics, and constraints on their productivity. In addition, the research will characterize the developmental process of these mechanisms along the Modern Hebrew period. My Master's thesis investigated the influence of the Russian language on the lexicon and phraseology in the literary work of Revival period writer Uri-Nissan Gnessin.
